Welcome to the website of the Sydney Clinical Skills and Simulation Centre. Our multidisciplinary team provides an extensive range of activities for health professionals.

Training

  • We have a large cache of established training courses for individuals and groups
  • We tailor-make training and professional development programs for groups on request
  • Our mobile simulation unit is available to provide (in-situ) training in the clinical environment
  • We also offer individualised coaching, that addresses professional practice, including focussed skills development, re-entry to practice and performance assessment
  • Alternatively, our facilities are available to be hired by independent training providers

Mentoring

  • For groups seeking assistance with aspects of course design and management, we offer educational consultancy and mentoring services including training needs analysis; curriculum development; creation, or licensing, of training materials and multimedia learning products; technical support; provision of training; certification; instructor training and program evaluation
  • Synthetic learning laboratories during their initial design and establishment phases may consult us for assistance with facility design, business planning, purchasing decisions and recruiting
  • Established laboratories may benefit from ongoing technical support and equipment rental

Research

  • Our research projects mainly focus on virtual environments, human factors, team dynamics, and educational outcomes
  • We host fellowships for professionals seeking workplace experience and supervise research projects in conjunction with specialist college accredited training programs, university degrees and sabbaticals

Project management

  • Our multidisciplinary team has an established track record in project management of large multicentre projects and small scale projects

Commercial services

  • The centre provides a realistic environment for design and testing of new technologies and health systems
  • The state of the art facilities available at the SCSSC provide an ideal setting for health related activities such as filming, sponsored training, conferences and functions
